Approximately 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on the start of the week after powerful weather events passed over the state, generating powerful gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Impact
Homeowners witnessed large ice chunks as large as 7 centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Utility workers were working to restore energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews working to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Weather Woes
Meanwhile, approximately one thousand energy customers in the southern state also encountered power outages after the metropolitan area saw its wettest day in 18 months.
State Emergency Services received nearly 600 emergency reports across the area, primarily for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on yesterday, more than twenty-eight thousand power users in the state were lacking electricity.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this week as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both regions.
Safety Concern
Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This caution comes after past events where analogous circumstances led to significant health impacts in the state.
