In a bizarre partnership that defies usual expectations, the game developer has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Uncovered
According to the official release, "An unusual confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where hints of forbidden rituals and monstrous changes resonate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden cult.
The questline focuses on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Material
Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana in addition to numerous artifacts hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's third free story addition, titled "The Enigma."
